Calm clarity in a noisy market.

A private advisory practice for Filipino professionals, business owners, and executives with existing wealth. If your portfolio has grown over the years — and some part of you suspects it may have drifted from what your life actually needs now — a 30-minute conversation is often enough to know where you stand.

The drift happens quietly.

Most of the investors I work with didn't get into difficulty through a single bad decision. They drifted there.

Five years ago, a portfolio made sense. Life was different. The market was different. One position looked modest. Today, one position has quietly grown to dominate the rest, the life stage has moved on, and the structure hasn't kept up.

It feels fine — until it doesn't.

A 30-minute conversation is usually enough to surface the drift, name the questions worth asking, and tell you whether you need a deeper look.

I've been on both sides of the conversation.

I'm Elmer Dy Tang. I'm a Certified Securities Representative at Unicapital Securities, a member broker-dealer on the Philippine Stock Exchange. I've spent 13 years in this market, and today I manage over ₱100 million in client assets.

Most of my day is spent on a specific kind of conversation — with professionals and business owners who already have real money invested and want a thoughtful second pair of eyes on it. Not predictions. Not product pitches. Clarity on what they already own and whether it still makes sense.

I'm not trying to be the biggest voice in Filipino finance. I'd rather have 20 clients I serve deeply than 2,000 followers I serve not at all.

What a Portfolio Second Opinion actually is.

Thirty minutes. Private. Free. Phone or Zoom. Here's what actually happens:

A high-level review of what you already own
We look at structure — not specific stock picks. How exposed are you, to what, and does that still match where you are in life?
The three questions worth asking
Does the structure still fit your life stage? Has any one position quietly come to dominate? Would losses from any single holding change how you live?
Blind spots, named
Concentration risk. Insurance gaps. Cash that's losing to inflation. Things that are usually invisible until someone asks the right question.
A clear sense of what to do next
Sometimes that's "nothing — you're in good shape." Sometimes it's "worth a deeper look." Either way, you leave with clarity, not a sales pitch.
A few things I'll never do on this call: no stock recommendations, no product pitches, no pressure to act, no upsell to "tier 2." Ever.

Three ways to start.

Frequently asked

Who is this for?
Filipino professionals, business owners, executives, doctors, lawyers, and senior OFWs — typically ages 40 to 65, with ₱5 million or more in investable assets (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, time deposits combined). You're already investing. You're not trying to find "the next big stock." You want to make sure what you already own still makes sense for where you are in life.
What does it cost?
The Portfolio Second Opinion call is free. Thirty minutes, no obligation. If we decide after the conversation to work together on something more substantial — ongoing advisory, or me becoming your assigned representative for brokerage — we talk about that separately and in writing. But the call itself is always free, always private, and always has zero products attached to it.
What happens on the call?
I'll ask you a few structured questions — what you already own, roughly how much, what life stage you're in, what concerns you most. I'll reflect back what I hear, name any blind spots that surface, and share the questions I'd be asking if this were my own portfolio. You leave with a clearer sense of your situation. I don't recommend specific stocks on the call. I don't sell anything. If we're not a fit, you'll know by minute 15 and we can end early.
Is this investment advice?
The call is a structured conversation for educational and clarity purposes. It's not a personalized investment recommendation under Philippine SEC definitions — no specific security is being recommended. If after the conversation we agree to work together more formally, that's a separate engagement with proper disclosures. Either way, I won't issue specific buy or sell instructions in a free 30-minute call.
I already have a broker. Why book a call with you?
Because I'm not trying to replace your broker. I'm a second opinion. Most investors only ever get one perspective on their money — usually from whoever sold them their first product. A licensed second pair of eyes, from someone with no commission attached to the conversation, is often the most useful read you'll get that year.
What if I'm not in the Philippines right now?
That's fine. The call happens on Zoom or phone and works from anywhere. Many of the investors I talk with are OFWs in Hong Kong, Singapore, the UAE, or North America. The conversation is the same — we're looking at structure, not location.
Can I just subscribe to the newsletter instead?
Yes. Second Opinion goes out every Sunday at 8 AM Philippine time. It's a weekly reflection on how to think clearly about markets and decisions — not stock tips, not market predictions. Some readers stay on the newsletter for months before booking a call. Some book immediately. Both are fine.
Why "Second Opinion"?
Because when it comes to your own money, one opinion is rarely enough — especially when the first one came from someone with a product to sell. The name is literal. I'm not trying to be your first advisor. I'm the second pair of eyes that confirms whether what you're already doing still makes sense.

If this resonates.

You don't have to act. You don't have to buy anything. You just have to bring your questions to a 30-minute private conversation — and we'll work through them together. Free. No agenda beyond clarity.
